We wish you and yours a very merry holiday!

We start our Christmas tomorrow after work as we drive to Nebraska for the Williams' family Christmas. On the way home we get to visit my friend Rhonda and her family...meeting Baby Benjamin born last Saturday. This is a very special Christmas for her family for many reasons! Christmas Eve back in Tulsa and Christmas Day my parents will be here and we will head up to my sisters.

I am tired just writing all that! But the good thing after tomorrow I am off work until the 2nd of January. This will be my first vacation this year, since most of my time off was for some sickness of Samuel's :o).

I am sure I will have a ton of pictures to post next week.

P.S.
I plan on getting the rest of the Christmas cards out tomorrow.

Christmas Card Update

I did half of my Christmas cards Sunday. I only did half because I didn't order enough and had to order more and pay more than the cards in rush shipping, but not the point. I addressed and stamped 1/2 of the Christmas Cards on Sunday and they are sitting right where I left them...on the desk. I am about to say screw the Christmas cards and send an email :o). But not really.....

I blame pregnancy brain. That is what I blamed when it took me 45 minutes to get settled to wrapping Christmas presents too. It started not finding the scissors, which Dave of course blamed me for because "I didn't put them back where they belong". So I finally find the scissors and the tape disappeared. When I found the tape the pen disappeared. When I found the pen and tape the scissors were gone again...and repeat.

Ooooooh...Wow.....Oh!

These are the words Samuel used to describe the Christmas lights we looked at last night. He is very dramatic like his Mommy.

First Snow Of The Year

Barely a dusting, but snow nonetheless.

Workin' Hard

Dave and Rick worked hard this morning trying to clean up the aftermath of this week's ice storm. Terri and I stayed warm and watched TV inside. But I think we made excellent supervisors. My poor sister, all of her trees were damaged!

Here We Are

It isn't too often that I get a picture of us together.

Control...

I can honestly say that I am freaking out a littlle bit. I haven't sent my Christmas cards out yet and normally I have them out by the first weekend in December. I don't even know if I will get them out this week! I haven't finished Christmas shopping and need to wrap presents. I also walk by Baby #2's room and think we need to clean it out..LIKE NOW. And Dave of course says we need to wait until next year. NEXT YEAR that seems so far away. Hello, belly not getting any smaller.

So, if you know me this post is perfectly normal of Christy the control freak.

Okay, I feel better now. Back to what you were doing.

Bye Bye Morning Nap

Samuel is making his move to the "older toddler" room this week. I am happy to report that this move is going much smoother than the last one. However, the "older toddlers" do not take a morning nap. So Samuel is still adjusting to that and ready to go to bed about an hour earlier than usual. We just figured that out tonight, since the last two nights he was SO tired he wouldn't fall asleep and would just cry and cry. Tonight, we thought let's put him to bed at the first sign of tired and it worked he went to sleep with less tears.

I am going to be a pro next go around.

Daddy & Samuel

Due to the recent ice storm, we were without power for about a day and a half. Which, compared to what others are going through is NOTHING. But, nonetheless we did loose power and had to stay at a hotel for the night since Samuel was sick and needed breathing treatments. The picture is above of Samuel and Daddy hanging out there.

I suggest for anyone who wants to test their nerves to spend a day in a hotel with a 1 year old :o). Thank goodness daycare opened back up on Tuesday. Samuel AND Mommy were very excited.

It was Just A Bad Night

Dear Samuel,
You threw your first fit today when we were out for dinner. Normally, you just hang out and flirt with all the girls. I know what you are thinking, well normally you bring a sippy cup, teddy grahams and go at a time when I actually eat dinner....but still you didn't have to cry crocodile tears because we wouldn't give you a straw. Daddy said on the way home that we can't go out to eat until you are 8 years old now! Please give Daddy lots of kisses in the morning and remind him that we forgot your diaper bag with your drink and snacks. You know how much Mommy likes to go out to eat.

I love you and remember who shared her orange soda with you and let you eat your cookie even though you would only eat ketchup for dinner, please no more fits.

Love,
Mommy

Here are pictures of Baby Boy Williams and all his glory! He definitely was proud to show us that he is a boy today. We got to watch him for a little bit and he is quite the active little guy. He rubbed his face a few times, waived his arms around and kicked a bit. So we may be seeing a glimpse into our future. Samuel was not nearly as active in his ultrasounds (he IS making up for that now). We are excited, he measured right at his due date 04/20/08.

20 Week Belley

We are 1/2 way there!

Well, we knew it would happen one day. Samuel got his first bite report today. We have received them before but he was the receiver not the giver. I know, I know kids bite...bite back...blah blah blah.

This is how it went down:
Mommy: Samuel did you have a good day?
Samuel: NO
Mommy: You didn't?
Samuel: Nooooooo
(teacher hands me the report)
Samuel: Uh oh Uh oh Uh oh
Mmmmmua Mmmua Mmmmua (those are kisses if translation is needed)
Mommy: Kisses are good bites are baaaaaad

He has only bit me like 3 times since we got home, so my little "bites are baaaad" helped :o)

Thank You Walmart

For giving Samuel a candy cane. He loved it and is now trying to eat the 2-year old candy canes off the tree.

I knew there was a reason I preferred Target :o).

Oh Christmas Tree

Fun Times..Happy Boy!

Daddy's Little Helper

Deck The Halls

Are you ready?? I am! I love the Christmas season. I put up our tree last night after Samuel went to bed and in the one hour he has been awake he has removed 3 "balls" from the tree. This is going to be fun!!

We spent Thanksgiving in Texas with my parents. I love going home!! It is so nice having my parents so close. Samuel loved their house, SO much stuff to play with. We are glad Grandpa isn't as OCD as he use to be :o).

Enjoying The 75 Degree November Day

Mommies

Today we got this picture and then Samuel proceeded to get a sever case of the mommies. Oh well, at least it turned out cute. AND I didn't spend a ridiculous amount of money on pictures. Just on the new camera I had to go buy afterwards.

Tis the season!

Surgery Day

A little sad.

School Picture

We normally pass on the school pictures. But this was too cute to pass up.

Can't Wait

For Wednesday! We have our ultrasound to find out...boy or girl? At our last appointment our doctor said, "I don't know guys I think it is a boy". But then we decided that was probably the umbilical cord. She was nice enough to not make we wait another 4 weeks to check again. I would have gone insane :o). A girl has to shop.

My guess..boy. But who knows.

All Done

Samuel had his surgery this morning and did wonderful. He had a rough time when he woke up, trying for fight the anesthesia. They learned quickly that he is a breathe holder when he gets mad. I guess his face turned blue! So I am glad I didn't see that. It was interesting to see how much his oxygen really does drop on the monitors when he does that. We usually blow on his face to get him breathing again.

Samuel made a friend before his surgery. His name was Cooper. They were running up and down the halls having a blast. Cooper even gave Samuel a hug and kiss. So wishing I brought my camera.

Random Thought At 5:00 AM

I wonder if the person who decided we should change the time had a one year old.

All Clear...

We have been cleared for surgery tomorrow. With such a bad cough, I thought for sure they would postpone it. Well, I guess it is better to get it over with

Bye bye adenoids.

Joys of Dinner Time

If you laugh once he will do it again..and again..and again. And even if I am his mom it is cute each time. New trick, EVERYTHING is a telephone. Even the dinner spoon.

15 Month Stats

Weight: 25 lbs 3 oz 55%
Height: 30.5 in 30%
Head: 48.3 cm 80%
Lesson in discipline: Heartbreaking

Today at Samuel's 15 month appointment our doctor reminded us of the terrible 1's (they replaced the 2's) and how important it is to discipline. So, I guess Samuel telling US no and continuing to do what he isn't suppose to is NOT classified as discipline. Anyhow, Samuel had a moment and the doctor showed us what to do. Samuel stopped in his tracks! And then cried for about 15 minutes after the doctor left. Calmed down and cried for 15 more minutes when he got his shots.
Dave doesn't think it is nearly as bad as I am making this out to be. I just think I should be the nice parent and he can be the disciplinary. I am planning on meeting with him later and making a list of what we should discipline for and what we shouldn't because it isn't that bad. I will be sure and let you know how that goes.

Because One Test Wasn't Enough

As I enter my 14th week of pregnancy, I guess I have some news. We are having another baby!! I am entering my 2nd trimester which in our house means I don't complain about feeling sick all the time and my energy level is increasing daily!

Crazy? Why, yes thanks for asking. But it is a happy crazy because our family is growing and Samuel will have a little brother or sister to play with.

Due date April 20th, 2008!

Adenoids

Are coming out.

We went to the ENT doctor and he thinks that we need to take Samuel's adenoids out since he continues to get ear infections even after his tubes.

I am far from thrilled with the idea of Samuel have another surgery, but I am also not liking him being on antibiotics once a month. The doctor said he will bounce right back and only has to miss 2 days of school. So, we scheduled it for November 6th. They are going to go ahead and replace his tubes while they are at it.

Lovin' that Halloween Costume

Here Goaty Goaty Goaty

Just My Size

This was one sad pumpkin patch. Guess they weren't kidding about the Great Pumpkin Shortage of 2007! I think we will be going to a better one in a few weeks..but the corn maize was okay.
Dave finally started feeling a little better today, but we didn't end up going to Nebraska. Which was probably a good thing....I think the game made him relapse!

He Gets It.

Well, either he has been playing us or Samuel woke up a little smarter Monday morning. In one day Samuel overwhelmed us with the following discovery, he actually does know what the heck we are saying. It started with him bringing me a diaper. I asked him if he needed his diaper changed and he went over to the changing table. Then I asked if he wanted milk and over to the fridge. It ended with me asking if he was ready for night night. Yep, off to bed he went. All in one day, I must say I am a proud mommy..that wonders how long he has been pretending not to understand?? Oh and he still doesn't understand "no".

And if you remember in a previous post I let on about Samuel's favorite teacher, Mallory. Well this morning he was kind of grumpy and not wanting to go to school. So I said do you want to go see Ms. Mallory? And, boom- instant smile, up and walking to the door saying bye to me as he goes. Hmmmm....nothing like making Mommy feel a little jealous.

I guess I should explain the outfit above. Well it is pretty simple and I am sure all your Mommies understand....Daddy dressed him :O).

Bye for now! We are off to Nebraska this weekend (assuming Dave feels better).

Saturday, October 06, 2007

Hmmmm.........

We were at Matt and Keri's today and Samuel sees their dogs. And he says "dog". I am confused, we don't have dogs nor do we really talk about dogs.

I don't know, just one of those things that make you say hmm....

Whakey Cousins

Update

I almost feel guilty for my lack of posts lately. And it isn't like Samuel hasn't had a lot of new tricks the past few months either, in fact he has which keeps us so busy. I mean heck, I even forgot to celebrate his 14 month birthday!
So my toddling boy is testing his independence daily. He likes to walk on his own and looks at you like you are a crazy person if you try to hold his hand. Oh and even more crazy if you tell him he can't walk in the street only the sidewalk. I know, I should totally let him do that...
We are completely off the bottle and have been for awhile now. Actually an easy transition. It helped that they stopped giving them to him at school. Though he has replaced the security of his bottle with the security of his blanket. Luckily no fits yet that the blanket has to leave the house.
His daily reports from school always say what a happy boy he is. He loves his new classroom (not so new anymore) and he loves his teacher. In fact a word added to his vocabulary is his teacher Mallory's name.
Speaking of vocabulary, he is starting to use is words in the correct context. His vocabulary consists of Hi, hello, bye, more, me, mommy, da da, thank you (dan do), and he attempts book. He says a whole lot of other words but I have yet to find a baby translator to tell me what he is saying. But we are learning to communicate. In fact yesterday he was whining and I said what do you want, show me. And he walked over the brownies and pointed. I know, gifted.
Now, I can explain my lack of pictures there is a valid excuse for that. The boy will not stand still!
Well there you have it. And all before Samuel even woke up. I

The Case Of The Missing Tooth

Well, our morning yesterday began with a call to the nurse line and the pediatrician plus a trip to the Urgent Care all before 9:00 AM! I am not that overally paranoid Mom who is going to freak out every time her son falls, after all he is a boy, but yesterday I felt was some serious business. It all began as I spent my morning time on the internet and Samuel attempted to help me type. But to get over here he had to get from point A to point B which had a few obstacles (we have since picked up). Well, in the process he fell and hit his mouth on the wood chair. And out came the tears and the blood! There was so much blood I couldn't even see his tooth and I made Dave search the carpet for his tooth. He couldn't find the tooth and he didn't stop bleeding. So I got a washcloth got the bleeding to stop and there was the tooth....in his mouth. But over course that didn't satisfy me because I was sure the tooth got pushed back up in the gum line so I called the nurse line for my insurance, who told me to call my pediatrician (I hope it was considered urgent or there goes $25.00) who told me to have them check it out at the Urgent Care.
To make an already too long story short, the doctor at Urgent Care was more worried about his runny nose than his suspected tooth that was pushed back into his gums. He said that we need to be careful at this age. DUH!
The day ended pretty good, Samuel stayed at his Aunt Terri's and we went out to celebrate our 2 year anniversary!

Trying To Look Innocent

He also has figured out how to flip open our phones. So should get a call, it isn't a prank it is Samuel saying hello :o).

Mystery Solved

Okay, so you didn't know it was a mystery but still. I couldn't really figure out where Samuel learned "uh oh" because we really don't say it much. But as we were leaving daycare he said and I asked if he says that all day. And she said, they all do. Grace (who I think Samuel has a crush on) pushes her cup off the table daily while saying "uh oh". I actually got all 5 babies saying it as I was leaving. Pretty funny, but I felt sorry for his afternoon teacher.

A Man, His Son and Football Season

Life doesn't get any better...

Sorry ladies, he can't date yet!

Uh-Oooh

Samuel started saying "uh-oooh" on Friday and he hasn't stopped since! So, he can add that to his tricks. And it is funny, when he meets someone new he will usually show them his tricks. Like, hey look at me I can clap and point to my nose and I can also say "uh-ooooooh". I was talking to my friend the other day who's son will be 2 in November and she said that he is at her favorite age and I was like every age is your favorite :o). I completely understand though, because this little guys just get smarter and more interesting everyday! And every age is my favorite age too!
