Samuel's first Christmas brought him a ton of presents and brought Mommy and Daddy the flu! Here is my favorite picture, but I will post more later. Dave's still sick, I am going to try and go back to work today. UGH!

Guilt..Coughs..And Kisses

This post is all over the place.

Guilt: Yesterday someone else discovered that Samuel can practically roll over. My response to that was "I had no idea he could do that!". I get in the car and think, I didn't know this because I work all day and Samuel goes to daycare. I guess this thought goes through all working Moms head at some point.

Cough: Samuel has had this cough for 2 weeks now! We have been to his pediatrician twice and after tonight to Urgent Care once. Each time I hear "he is fine Mom". Ok, yes I know this I just need to hear it because I don't know what "wheezing" sounds like and I do too much research on the Internet. But it is RSV season so I am overall cautious and have no shame with it. The doctor imitated what I need to listen for, so I have my ears open.

Kisses: Now the good news! Samuel learned a new trick. Okay so it sucks that his Mommy and Daddy didn't teach him this, but none the less it is so cool and makes every moment of being a Mommy worth it. If I knew how to post a video I would so show you could see (and besides this new trick is done when Samuel is in the mood which probably won't strike when a video camera is there). Okay, if you give Samuel a kiss on the cheek and then say Samuel give me kisses. He gives you a kiss!!!!! That made me so happy. Miss Tara taught Samuel this. I have got him to do it twice. Daddy still has to see it to believe the mood didn't strike this evening.

6 Days And Counting! Be prepared for a million pictures of Samuel and his first Christmas.

The picture above has nothing to do with anything on this post. Just in case you were trying to piece it together.

Sunny And 75 Degrees

We took advantage of the nice weather today! Samuel loved his first time in the swing at the park. Can you believe it shorts in December??

Still No Interest

This morning Samuel woke up and we went to the living room, the room was dark and the tree was lit. I put his hand out, practically stuck his face in the tree and he ignored it. Does he not see the lights? Does he not see all the cool ornaments? I am confused, why is a 5 month old not excited about Christmas?

Samuel still shows no interest in the outrageous amount of gifts that lay under the tree too. Dave wonders what the "heck" is in all the packages. I insist we need to do a winter cleaning to the house (to make room for the all the packages).

Next year it will be "Samuel Cade" get away from that tree!

What?

Well, you are 5 months old today. You weigh 17 pounds (we went to the doctor for your first cold, which lucky for all of us is just a cold) and change everyday. Bottle time has become a bit of a challenge since you have decided you need to help hold your bottle. You don't always get the bottle in your mouth. Usually your cheek. We have a lot of fun eating cereal out of the bowl. I don't know what it is but you laugh and laugh. Bedtime keeps getting later every night. Can you believe that tonight you were up until 8:00?? That could be because you kept yourself fascinated with grabbing my mouth and nose for 15 minutes. You are a happy boy! Always smiling and rarely fuss. But who can blame you when you are gassy or tired? I would fuss too. So let's say you never fuss because times like that don't count. Much to my surprise you really have no interest in the Christmas Tree or the 15 presents under there for you (maybe a slight exaggeration). I have a feeling I will be opening all the presents for you. Maybe Daddy should because he may actually be surprised at what they are.

I posted a few of my favorite recent pictures. You take pictures like your Dad, eyes wide open!

We love you!

Over The River And Through The Woods....

To Grandmother's house we go!

We are back from another road trip. This time we went to Texas to visit my parents. They moved there about a month a go. It is so nice to know they are just a 3.5 hour drive away! Samuel got to meet Jolly St. Nick. I think I heard him asking for a coach wallet???? I don't know, the boy has good taste what can I say.

First Snow Of The Year

We had our first snow of the year. Samuel didn't go out and play this year! He was anxiously watching TV this morning hoping for a snow day, but his daycare was probably one of the only ones open! This California girl does NOT do snow. But I married a Nebraskan so he drove me to work both days. Don't be fooled by the generosity. Dave didn't think it would be a good idea for me be stuck at home on a payday. For some reason he thought I would do a lot of online shopping. He so doesn't know me well.
