I'll Be Right Back, Just A Minute

That is what Samuel tells you each time he leaves the room. He also responds to everything you tell him not to do with "Okkkkkay" and keeps doing it.

Stinker.

Okay, done blogging for the night.

Well, We Aren't Here To Talk About His Nutrition

There are a couple reasons I posted this picture. One reason is Cooper went through his two spare outfits at school today and had to borrow the purple striped one above, with a ruffle collar (not sure if you can see it). He wore that to the doctor and in Walgreens, and yes I felt it necessary to tell everyone who complimented him he was a boy and not a girl. Everyone said "he" when they referred to him, but I had to reiterate it. The second reason is that it shows how horizontal stripes are far from becoming on my 19 pound 5 month old!

I know his weight because we were at the doctor today. Cooper was not acting like himself the last couple days and I thought something was wrong. His teacher thought something was wrong too, for the record. When the doctor walked in he took one look at Cooper and said, "Well we aren't here to talk about his nutrition". I need to take a picture of Cooper with just a diaper and give you the full effect. Picture a really pale blonde sumo wrestler. But back to the doctor appointment. I am kind of thinking he thinks I overreacted yet again. His diagnosis was teething, soar throat (his tonsils were a little red) and good ol' constipation. Tylenol, oragel and prunes and there we went on our way. We tried the prunes and another good reason for the picture above was the prunes got all over him rather than all in him. Cooper didn't help my case either, he laughed and laughed at the doctor. All smiles, no frowns.

Part Two

I recently blogged about my success with bedtime and I am happy to say Samuel has continued to go to bed with out tears! BUT...............

We have a new challenge. Night time waking. Samuel now wakes up at least two times at night. He wakes up yelling for me and running in our room. I have tried making him a "bed" next to our bed and that isn't working. Nope, he wants to sleep in our bed. I have never been for or against this, but have you tried sleeping in a queen size bed with two adults and a two year old? Not comfortable! While I sleep and I think Samuel sleeps, Dave does not sleep. And the sleep I get is far from quality. We just want to sleep all night undisturbed. One of magazines recently did a poll on how much would you pay for a full night sleep. At this point it seems priceless to me. On top of the multiple night time wakings, he is also ready to start his day as early as 5:30 AM! I hate to sound selfish, but my alarm doesn't go off until 6:00 on the weekdays and isn't even set on the weekends--so 5:30 AM--no thanks.

I try to remind myself that he will only be little once and the reality is one day he will think he is too cool for Mommy, but then I think if we got more sleep we would have more fun. I wouldn't be too tired to do this or that,I would be awake and refreshed. Then I think is he doing this because he is at an age where he realizes that Mommy and Daddy go to work all day and he wants more of our time when we get home. So guess what this does? Good ol' guilt comes back. I like working and I choose to be a working Mom. Dave would support me if I wanted to stay home or work. I think sometimes I am a better Mom because I do work. But then I think am I making the wrong choice?

The joys of being a Mommy. Does the guilt ever go away???

I Am So Excited, I Could Blog!

Tonight Samuel went to bed in record time! In 15 minutes he was asleep without tears. This is such a big deal to me because it has been a STRUGGLE for us. No one was going to bed happy. I don't know if we are there yet, but we are getting closer.

Cooper is also getting there as far as sleeping through the night. We stopped his night time feedings and I think he is almost use to it. Last night he only cried for about 2 minutes.

Hangin' With Mr. Cooper

I Am So Old

Tonight Dave and I went on a date!! It lasted 3 hours, we saw Step Brothers and then went and had tacos and a beer. But that isn't why am I old, because the movie was hilarious and I didn't care that they dropped the f-bomb every other word.

I am old because some kids thought it would be funny to make the Big Bird ride look like it had a cigarette hanging out if it's mouth! Well mommness kicked in and I made sure to point it out to them at the ticket booth so they would take it off. I just couldn't believe some kids would do that. That is all we need, kids to see Big Bird smoking. See, I am old! Before I had kids, I would have never pointed it out to the employees. I may have thought it was bad, but I wouldn't have pointed it out.

Samuel would have been so embarrassed if he knew his Mommy did that.

Your Help Doesn't Go Unnoticed

Tonight while doing laundry I told Samuel "now I need to wash your clothes". So he said "I get my clothes" and started bringing me his clothes, his clean clothes right out of the drawer.

I appreciate my little helper. Really. Just next time I will be more specific and tell him I need to wash his DIRTY clothes.

Never A Dull Moment

Samuel is quite fond of "HIS" exersaucer. I don't actually know if he remembers it was his or if he just thinks everything is his. I got it out for Cooper, but honestly I think they should make these for two-year olds too. I get about 10 minutes of not having to worry what Samuel is getting in to.

Horribly Disgusting

This is what happens when your two year old is telling you he is done and you don't listen because you are feeding his brother.

In order to undo what I did, Samuel now has a buzz cut. Quite becoming if you ask me.

Here I Sit

Catching up on blogs and other things I find interesting on the internet. And there Dave goes patiently picking Samuel up and putting him back to bed each time he gets up. Last night they did this for an hour, let's see if they break the record tonight.

We are totally super nannying him. She would be so proud.
