They Notice Each Other Now :o)

Zoo

Samuel and Caleb finally got together. They went to the zoo! We had a lot of fun. It was normally both of their nap times but they didn't care, we walked around the zoo for a couple of hours. Samuel came home and slept for 2 hours. He was wore out. He can't wait to celebrate Caleb's first birthday...it is already next month! Time flies when you are having fun..or when you work full time and come home and be a Mom full time and chase your crawling, rolling, scooting pre-toddler around the house, who has figured out how to pull himself up on any and everything and open any and everything :o). I was warned by all my friends, don't be in a rush for him to be mobile. Now I know why :o).

I would be out with the girls...

I decided to go out with the girls tonight. We had a birthday to celebrate, and I needed to go out. Tell me you could enjoy yourself if you got the following text messages....

"Samuel is crawling"
"Not army crawl either"
"I have a video"

I swear it took the waiter soooooo long to bring me my check and then I hit every light. By the time I got home Samuel was asleep. So all I had was the video.

And he was right..Samuel crawled and it wasn't the army crawl.

Happy Mom's Day to Me!

10 Months...a day late!

Samuel you turned 10 months old yesterday. I can't wait until you are a year old because I won't feel obligated to tell all about your past month. Once you turn a year we are going to celebrate every 6 months :o). A year old, all this talk makes me remember that you are going to be 1 year old here in a few months. I think you would be happy to celebrate with graham crackers, apple juice, grape propel and cheerios. What a spread! You are trying to let me know you are boss. You are still trying to decide what you like to eat and what you don't. You like everything I like and your Dad too. You also like to eat off of grown up forks and spoons. I hate to tell you Samuel, you are still a baby. And I am not letting you grow up too fast. Sappy mom looks at you and thinks..will you remember how much you love me in 12 years? You still prefer rolling as your main mode of transportation. You love when we clap for you! Drawers and cabinets are your new favorite toy. I am sticking to my story of you don't understand what "no" means. Because surely you would stop if you knew.

You are just you and I wouldn't want it any other way. I couldn't imagine loving you anymore than I do, until I wake up the next day and figure out that I do!

Why The Big Smile??

Well, I will tell you. Today Samuel "graduated". That means...dah duh! No helmet. And they said it would take 3-6 months..ha! They were very happy with Samuel's progress. He went from being 3/4 of an inch off to just millimeters. So this is good, because as the weather gets warmer and muggier the helmet was going to be come more and more stinky.

The doctor promised me it wouldn't go back to how it was, phew. And he also said that no ones head is perfect so millimeters is probably just like you and me.

We think Samuel will miss his helmet now, no more "bam bam". He will learn that quick once the padding is gone.

Well, I have used all my energy now. I have a new respect for Mom's stay at home and working! It is exhausting. But don't get me wrong, worth every yawn!

Add biter biscuits to the list. Those things are MESSY. You know I use to say before I had Samuel that I would not let him get dirty. Believe it or not I am a bit anal about that kind of stuff. And for about 9 months I could actually control that. If there was a drop of food on him, I would change his outfit. If he had food on his face I would wipe right off. But I work full time and come home and play with Samuel, make dinner (except the nights my wonderful husband cooks) and give him a bath. And to be quite honest, I am tired. So, he leaves the house with a spot on his shirt...sometimes even a burger in his nose....and for sure food on his mouth.

By the time meal time comes a long I have given the control to Samuel. After all I want to encourage his Independence. Even if it does mean he will need to get another bath.

With Independence comes the realization that my little baby doesn't need me as much anymore. He doesn't want me to hold him until he goes to sleep anymore, he wants to go to his crib. And to be honest, since I seem to be honest today that makes me REALLY sad.

But I am not giving up on this, he will for sure never play in the mud. I mean yuck :o)

Drop And Give Me 10 :o)
