4 Months Old

It is 9:30 and I just realized that Cooper is 4 months old today. I had to go run and take his picture because I forgot. Sorry Cooper!

Dear Cooper,

You go for your 4 month appointment on Saturday, so I can update your stats then. But your Daddy thinks you are going to be in the 90th percentile. I think at LEAST that. You aren't a newborn anymore, you are a full fledged baby boy. Smiles, laughs and coos. Yes, that is right you do it all!

I started taking you and your brother to daycare once a week and got to talk to your teacher. She told me that you are such an easy baby to take care of. She said that all the other babies will be screaming and you will just hang out in your crib, in the swing, or play on the floor. I would say I bet she says that to all the Mommies, but with you I believe it. You are such a sweet boy. Tonight your Dad and brother went out for a little while and we got to hang out. I held you and we listened to music. It was so nice, with all the hustle and bustle of having a full-time job and a toddler we don't get those moments too often. And when we do I think, cherish this. It goes to fast and the second time it seems to going twice as fast.

But Cooper, now that you are 4 months old you can go back to your 3 month old habits. By that I mean, you can sleep through the night again.

Love you!

Mommy

Morning Cooper

Sam is usually the first to wake in the Williams' home. He makes sure his brother isn't too far behind. Yesterday he went in and turned on Cooper's light and got him to wake up by yelling "Morning Cooper". Cooper doesn't seem to upset waking up to his brother...right in his face!

For The Baby Book

Samuel went "potty" on the potty twice today!

I am sure we have a long way to go, but I will take it.

Any Advice?

On getting a two year old to stay in bed?? UGH. Bedtime takes at least an hour. We have tried all the "supper nanny" tactics and he thinks it is a game. I am ready to buy a baby gate, but Dave says that is mean. I think it is setting boundaries.

I don't make a point of just throwing out unwanted advice, but I am going to:

KEEP YOUR BABY IN THE CRIB AS LONG AS POSSIBLE!! Cooper will not move out of his crib until he is 13.

Shaken Not Stirred

Samuel has made it known that he does not like his chocolate milk stirred. He wants it shaken. Next thing you know he will ask for a chilled sippy cup.

And Now A Message From Our Sponser

An Early Birthday Present

Can't believe that in a week Samuel will be two! He is getting to be such a big boy. He amazes me daily with what he knows, sometimes I have to stop and realize that is my baby. He is talking in sentences. He is very proud when he accomplishes something and yells "I DID IT"! Or if he doesn't want what you give him he will say "No, I want _____". It just doesn't seem right. When he wants both shoes, more crayons, not just one but 3 blankets he says "No, all my _______". We even have halfway normal conversations. He is also quite the character. How many kids do you know that get excited to go in time out??? He will put himself in time-out sometimes or happily sit there if you put him in it. But "prince" Samuel must have a pillow to sit on in time out. We may need to re-evaluate our discipline tactics.

He continues to test his bedtime limit. He usually gets up a few times before he finally settles. And is very picky when it comes to eating. Since he appears healthy we aren't too concerned about that.

He loves art. And loves to draw an "S". He can spell "SAM" but he skips the vowel.

He loves to help his baby "brudah Dooper". He will tell me when "Dooper" needs a bottle or binky. He also can't wait for him to wake up.

The picture above is an early Birthday present. He LOVES music, so we got him his own CD Player. He dances and laughs anytime music is on. Favorite songs, Itsy Bitsy Spider, The Wheels on the Bus, and The Mulberry Bush. He was so excited about his "music", he insisted he was done with dinner after one bite to go listen so more.

The first two years have been so much fun! We have quite the little man.
