Neglect
No, not my children, my blog! I must confess I have been overcome with a new obsession. Facebook. But tonight as I enjoy some quiet time, I decided it was time I updated the blog. And when I am done I will update my status on Facebook.
Sam:
Calls things "things". I have no idea what the "thing" is which makes him even more frustrated. So a lot of times we spend time naming different things that could be the "thing" he wants. I only get it right 1/2 the time. I am at a desperate point of bribery beyond m&m's. He still is not potty trained. Well, his friends have a tractor and Sam thinks it is really cool. So I told him if he would wear big boy underwear and go poop and potty in the toilet I would buy him a tractor. And I am not talking a little tonka..it is battery operated and has 2 gears. He was all gung ho, but the next morning he pooped in his diaper. He then offered to go potty, if I went and bought a tractor. Well ,I think I got out of that one. No seriously, will he ever be potty trained??? I am worried he will be in 5th grade wearing pull-ups.
Cooper:
Cute as can be! He got his first haircut and balled. He isn't walking but gets around just fine. I don't know that I am ready for walking. Not that walking would be much different than crawling, but just not ready. I am insisting on keeping a baby as long as I can. Even if he wears a size 5 diaper and 24 month clothes. He is just a big baby. He has fun at school and is over eating baby food. He likes to eat by himself, which means 1. using his hands and 2. half of it going on the floor. I took a video. He loves when we sing songs and always claps when we are done. Cooper also loves his bottle and thinks he needs a couple to get through the night. I still give them to him. I know, my fault.
There I did it. I blogged. Off to facebook now. Hey, Dave is still working and both boys are asleep. Again, neglecting the blog not my kids :o)

Warning..
Letting your son eat too much candy can cause him to change the words to popular children songs....
"The itsy bitsy bra, climbed up the water spout"
He is Dad's on that is all I can say.

If you talk to me on a regular basis, you probably know I have been saying I am getting Cooper's haircut and don't do it. To cut his hair would be like saying he isn't a baby anymore. But, today I think I will do it. His hair is getting so long it gets in his eyes and covers his ears. It also hits his back.
I can't believe I am so emotional over a haircut. Stay tuned...let's see if I do it.

We had a rather uneventful 1 year check-up, which is a good thing. Cooper still has a big head and short body :o). But that's okay he will catch up. We talked about his sleeping habits, and the doctor summed it up to teething and a virus which caused blisters in his throat. I had no idea he had it, but it will go away in a few days. We are now ready for year number two. Let the ride begin.

Sam's "House"
Cooper
Tonight you were sitting on my lap as I attempted to give you a breathing treatment. Across the room was your Daddy and brother sitting on the couch playing peek-a-boo with a big blanket. You were squirming around and I thought it was to get me to stop the breathing treatment. Which I did. And you still squirmed to get out of my lap. I put you on the floor and you crawled straight to your Daddy and reached for him to pick you up so you could play. You were all smiles from there.
Daddy's boy.

Tubes Are In
The surgery was quick and simple. He had an ear infection brewing in his left ear so there is a lot of drainage. I took a few pictures on my phone of Cooper before his surgery. They gave him some goofy juice to help make the separation a little easier on the babies I imagine Cooper was feeling pretty good (note eyes). I wanted some goofy juice too, they wouldn't give it to me.
Side Note:
Sometimes Cooper wakes up at night and we find the best way to get him back to sleep is to give him a bottle. Well last night, he couldn't have anything after 12:00 AM. At about 12:03 AM Cooper woke up..upset. At 2:00 AM Dave and Cooper finally went for a drive because nothing we did could make up for his his missing bottle.

Hard To Believe But In 29 Days..
You will be one!!!
The past 11 months have just flown by! Hard to believe we have gone through Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter and almost back to Spring again. You have just grown to a little boy right before our eyes. I say little..but..you are not such a little guy. At your last doctor appointment you weighed 25 pounds! I could not believe it. It is all in those cheeks (and thighs).
This past month, in addition to a blog a few weeks ago we can add pointing and playing "where's Cooper". You love to put anything in front of your face and appear when we "look" for you. It is so fun. You also know what no means but choose not to listen. It's okay you can get away with that for a little while longer. But know that Mommy means business :o). I have a confession, I no longer ready the "your baby this week" emails. If I could reach out to any first time Mom and have them actually listen I would say DELETE THOSE EMAILS. It is so much different this time around. The emails always prepared me (and made me obsess) for future milestones your brother would reach and quite frankly concerned me if he wasn't right on target (I now know how ridiculous that was). But with you, I have no idea what is around the corner and then you just amaze me with a new trick. I LOVE it!
You have been having a rough month teeth wise, those little teeth are sure making you loose some sleep. I am hoping that gets better. On Tuesday you are scheduled to get tubes in your ears. I say scheduled, because you have been running a low fever all weekend so I am not sure if that will change the plans at all. I almost think it is another ear infection :o(.
You are crawling and cruising around the furniture. Soon you will be toddling around the house! I am tired just thinking about that.
In fact, so tired that I am going to sleep now. Enjoy your last month as a 0 year old! One is going to be so much fun for you. We love you Cooper Jakob!

Kisses
In the last two weeks Cooper has started waving, clapping and clacking (noise he makes).
Today he started doing something new...he is giving kisses! I am loving it.
He's a pretty neat kid.

Month 10 Facts
Hard to believe we are already at month 10, time sure flies when you are having fun. Or chasing you around the house. Either way, it flies.
You are a master crawler, puller upper, jabber, smiler and head bumper. You have a few battle wounds to prove how busy you are.
You are a good combination of a Mommy and Daddy's boy. Whenever your dad comes home or in the room you get all excited and start saying "Da Da Da". You make his day each time you do it. I can get a smile and laugh out of you too.
Puffs, fruits and veggies are your foods of choice. But you really get frustrated to eat any other baby food. We give you table food and you are doing pretty good with it, except sometimes you forget to swallow it. I usually don't figure that out until you sneeze or something an hour later and I get a shower of corn or whatever the food was that day.
You are starting to fit into your role as little brother now. You now scream whenever your brother takes anything away from you. I think that is so you make sure we know what he did. We know. You also like following him around. He takes to his roll too and tries to boss you around and put you in time out.
You have had 4 ear infections in the last month and a half. So we now have an appointment with the ENT doctor for tubes. I hope it helps you feel better and sleep better. Between your ears and teeth you sometimes have pretty rough nights.
You are a pretty big 10 month old, wearing 18-24 months clothes and size 5 or 6 diapers. In fact you fit rather well into your brothers t-shirts. His pants too, but they are a little long.
