We Actually Did Something...
And the "we" didn't include Sam and Cooper. A good date night is always good! We got to eat at the bar, because we had no one under 21 with us (and Dave didn't make reservations). We got to stop at the ATM to get cash, and both got out of the car. We didn't have to strap two kids in their car seats each time we got in the car. And best of all, we were reminded that we are not only Mommy and Daddy, but Husband and Wife.
One..Two...Three Strikes...

Camel (minus scanner)
I need to post this in case we forget. Sam's Aunt Terri promised him when he was pottied trained she would take him to the zoo to ride a camel. She kept good on her promise. This was probably about a month or so ago.
But last week Sam told me: "I think Aunt Terri and Aaron are still at the zoo".
They were actually on vacation. He has such a great memory, just needs to work on the concept of time.

3 Year Old Stats
Weight: 33 Pounds 1/4 Ounces 75%
Length: 37 Inches 50%
I don't even know where to start, it seems like so long since I have actually sat and posted about Samuel. I love this age!
Funny things you say:
"Dear God, thank you for the yucky food" (before he ate lunch at school, it was tuna casserole)
"Friends do you want any beer?" (this was said at school, it was pizza day)
"He has a big head" (gotta love honesty)
Favorite things to do:
Play with friends
Jump
Talk
What I notice most about you:
You are very set in your ways, which is sometimes a good thing and sometimes bad. Good, because you know the routine. Bad, because if your routine doesn't go as planned this is a big disappointment to you and you express that through "fits". You are becoming independent and like to do things on your own. You are also a Mommy Boy!! But you like to help your Daddy too.
Pretending is a big thing right now, it is fun to see your imagination at work. Yesterday you had me in giggles because you were pretending to talk on the phone and even added the call waiting aspect to it. Your favorite person to call is Elizabeth. You LOVE Elizabeth, she is one of your favorite teachers at school. She sometimes even babysits you.
You have a memory not to be tested. You can recall things that happened MONTHS ago. You also loving sharing this with your teachers and often tell them stories about what you have done.
You are a gentle boy and wouldn't intentionally hurt anyone. Okay, maybe your brother, but you love him very much too.
We love you Sam!!
15 Month Stats
Weight: 27 Pounds 13.5 Ounces 85%
Length: 31 Inches 45%
Head: 49.5 cm 96%
So, you have two brains. Cooper seems to be keeping steady with her percentages, which I know are just figures but I think it is fun keeping track.
Lately we have been seeing a side of Cooper that involves throwing fits. Mainly, shoes. Cooper loves his shoes and always wants them on, especially if he sees you putting brother's on. He has quite the temper. He shares the same passion with his hat.
In the cuddling department, Cooper would rather not. Which makes Mommy very sad! But there are some rare moments when he will rest his head on your shoulder and those moments I love!
Cooper has added some new words to his vocabulary since my last post.
Wyatt: That is Sam's buddy
Shoes: Shoes
Nana: Banana
Bee Ba: Baseball Bat

Cooper Jakob!
Cooper is a busy little guy, so busy that I barely have time to come on here and post pictures...forget actually writing something.
But today, I took a day off. In addition to takinga day off I sent the kids to school and the husband to work. I have been working a lot and trying to keep up with being a Mom and Wife. I am going to clean the house and then go shop for Sam's 3rd Birthday. I won't even go there right now, he will get a post later in the weekend. Sniff sniff.
But Cooper, let's talk about him. He is 15 months old now and walking and talking. He is a very independent child and has no problem testing his limits. Something his brother doesn't do. He still has very blonde hair and big blue eyes! Cooper loves the water he will even put his head under and not care. He also loves to play with balls and sometimes mistakes other objects as balls and throws them too (phones, remotes, blocks, books).
We have started doing story time with him at night, which is something we should have started sooner but it use to get done after he went to bed. He loves books that he can touch and feel different textures. So his favorite is "That's not my Dinosaur". I like it too.
School is going well for Cooper. He is in the tiny toddler room and enjoys playing with this friends. We need to work on sharing and partly because of his brother. When he was smaller (which for him is a funny word to use) he wouldn't be able to do anything when his brother took his toys. Now he is making up for that, don't take a toy from Cooper! Cooper has 6 teeth, but if that past couple nights mean what I think, he has some more coming.
Cooper loves his Daddy!!! He usually wants him to hold him over Mommy :o(. He see hims in the morning and says (with a huge smile) DADDY! When he sees me he says "da da". Hm.
Words:
Juice
Thank You
Hi
Bye
Bubba (brother)
Daddy
Da Da (me)
No No (add a finger waive at that)
Ball
More
Sentenance:
More juice
Personality:
Stubborn and determined. Sweet and lovable.
We love our Cooper!!!!!

My Sam Likes To Potty all the Time, Potty all the Time...
Sam is, what I consider, potty trained. Wouldn't you if he went an entire week having only two accidents!!??!!! And one of those was at night which doesn't even count.
I guess they were right (they being the "experts" who always try to give advice), when he is ready he will do it.
He did it!

Fight Back
Well, I knew it would happen. One day Cooper would get fed up and fight back.
Cooper's teachers have told Dave, on more than one occasion that Cooper doesn't like to share. Well they put it a little nicer, "When Cooper finds a toy in the morning it is his for the rest of the day". I can't say I am surprised he is known to sit on his brother when he takes a toy from him and scream mine mine mine! Sam just sits there and yells for us to get him off. Sam has always been my passive aggressive one, Cooper not at all. I have been telling Sam for awhile now that one day Cooper is going to let him steal toys. I guess one day is here. At least he still has his sweet side.
I find it so interesting how different they can be. I guess I just thought I would have two of the same model.

A BIG Truck
Things I Say, That I don't Really Mean
Mommy: If you don't stop, I am going to pop this ball. (as we drove home and Sam cried for the ball I had just bought)
Sam: Pop the ball Mommy.
(I was not about to pop the ball that I just spent $3.00 on)
Mommy: If you don't go potty before we leave, you will have to wear a diaper.
Sam: Get me a diaper Mommy.
(I DID NOT PUT HIM IN A DIAPER)

My Child...
Sam: No, I am going to watch Daddy wash the car from up here. I don't want to get my new clothes wet.

Don't Quit Your Day Job
That is what I thought tonight, sorry I know it sounds bad.
I picked up Sam and Cooper today and that is when it started. I got to Sam's room and noticed he was in his back up clothes. Then we couldn't find his paper, which was fine to me, but to Sam it was unacceptable. One of the teachers finally found it and he was happy. I wasn't, it gave me no information that I needed. I need to know when he goes potty if he has an accident what time and how many. If I ask Sam he says 1. I don't believe him. Anyway, we left and Sam had a fit in the parking lot because wanted candy and when I picked him up I noticed he had a pull-up on. Seriously?? Errrrrrr! This in no way supports my potty training mission. The only defense I have for them is that we only picked up one spare of clothes yesterday and today and there must have been more. But wait folks, there is more. When we got home the fits continued and he yelled at me and stuck his tongue out. This went on for about an hour. Then when I took him to go potty, noticed he pottied in his pull-up.
We finally ate dinner and then it was bath time. Cooper is in the bath and I have Sam sitting on the toilet trying to poop. Sam never did poop, but Cooper did...in the bath. Then I had to take him out, Dave cleaned the bath and it was Sam's turn for a bath. He cried. Of course.
Finally got them both to bed. I think this has been one of my more challenging Mommy nights. I wanted to go back to work.
Weekend here I come!!!!!!! I feel better, venting always helps.
I love you boys!

Sorry I Haven't Stopped By...
But you see I am still working on getting my addiction to Facebook under control. Is there a self help group for that?

Cooper is just going and going! He is able to stand on his own but still holds a death grip when you try to let him walk on his own. He loves to stand from a sitting position and wait for cheers. We give them! He is very sneaky, so I can't take my eyes off of him or he will be into something. Cooper still seems like he is absorbing the world and trying to figure out the meaning behind everything.

Sam is as busy as ever! Not absorbing the world because he can't sit still long enough to do it. This weekend we have been on a potty training mission! No more pull-ups, which I may add is an over priced diaper.

It Wasn't Me...
But I still won't use q-tips anymore.
I am a picker, I admit it. If I see cradle cap I pick at it. If I see a piece of wax in my son's ear I try to get it. I know weird, but I think that is typical of most Moms.
Anyway, yesterday I saw a piece of wax in Sam's ear with his tube in it. I had to get it!! I tried gently to get it making sure not to go to far in his ear with the q-tip. Well after a couple of tries he started screaming, so I left the wax and tube be. I kind of thought he was being over dramatic.
Well, last night wasn't a good night. Between Sam and Cooper I got about an hour sleep. Sam just screamed and screamed all night and said his ear hurt. This morning he said he felt better and then I look and liquid was coming out of his ear! I was POSITIVE I did it. I burst my son's ear drum.
We were at the doctor this morning and she looked in his ear and it was full of puss and the other ear was infected. She assured me that yes his ear drum burst, but that it wasn't from me using the q-tip it was from the infection that had been brewing. She said the screams were because it truly hurt. Poor guy, hope we aren't on our way to tubes again.
As for Cooper, he is still not sleeping. She said his mouth is just full of soars :o(. She had to prescribe him something to sleep and gave me some other home remedy ideas. Hope he gets better soon!!!!! I hate seeing him in so much pain.
Two sick kids, no fun.

Gettin' It
Cooper use to get SO excited when he saw a bottle, after all what better than a warm bottle of milk. But he finally gets it, bottle = nap or bedtime. He now screams and crawls the other way whenever he sees a bottle.
Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease...Check
I don't really have a list, but if I did I would check Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease would be off of it. Cooper came across this somehow and now we are getting through it. Cooper only has it in his mouth which makes eating difficult. Whenever he ate he would just scream. Imagine a mouth full of canker soars, OUCH. Today he finally ate breakfast with no tears but that was only after he woke up 5 times last night screaming. They claimed a mixture of liquid benadryl and Maalox would help that, I beg to differ :o).
Because I don't want to spread it, Cooper has had to be home all weekend. This he doesn't like. Sam went to the Park with his Daddy on Friday night and Cooper sat at the door and yelled for them for about 10 minutes! I think he is ready to leave the house now.
We are just hoping Sam doesn't get it.

This Story is a Couple Days Old
Sam: Did you go to work today?
Mommy: Yes
S: I worked today too. In the kitchen.
M: You did???
S: Yep at school.
M: Was Annie there?
S: No. I made pizza and rice and beans.
M: That is good.
S: Yep.
Mommy: Yes

No No
Last night Cooper was in the bathtub and started to splash. I said "no no Cooper". He said "no no" and waived his finger at me! Then continued to splash.

We Broke The Rules
Tonight Sam and I sat on the living room floor, Indian style, and ate the ice cream sundaes we had just finished making. Daddy wasn't home, he would have never let us do that.
These are the moments you always want to remember, seriously.
